When we launched the OSSS project in May 2007 I posted a blog entry called Project Background to give OSSS site goers an idea of what we’re trying to do and where we came from. I think it actually helped so I’ve re-posted that entry below.
It’s been about a year since then and we’re still committed to bringing you the best materials on the best technologies in the industry. Sign up for our newsletter and we’ll keep you informed about developments, product updates and new products as we deploy them.
Repost from OSSS Original Launch Date -
I have been a Six Sigma practitioner for the past 7 years. For several years I worked as a Black Belt, completing projects for various customers, mentoring and coaching belts. In 2004 I co-founded a consulting firm, which I have since sold, specializing in deploying Lean Six Sigma were I setup, defined and deployed multi-national Lean Six Sigma Implementations. A couple of my more well known customers include BHP Billiton, Palm. Though I am no longer involved in a Lean Six sigma consulting capacity I remain extremely passionate about the power of Lean Six Sigma and the massive effect that it can have on people and organizations alike.
Over the course of my career as a Master Black Belt and Lean Six Sigma Executive I developed several curriculum revisions with the assistance of various Practitioners, Trainers, Curriculum Designers and Adult Learning Experts. Our original release (version 8.0) was utilized as the primary training curriculum for many of my deployments resulting in close to $500 Million of Financial Impact across various industries. So, in an effort to propagate the benefits of Process Improvement I chartered the OpenSourceSixSigma.com Project.
It is my hope that by providing people with the Lean Six Sigma training curriculums, Black, Green and Yellow Belt among other skill building courses, more people and organizations will embrace the use of process improvement methods, in some capacity, by leveraging proven training curriculums previously unavailable.
I am committed to continuing my work on OpenSourceSixSigma.com and along with your help the OSSS project will provide a significant value to the community.
